This course is a certificate course where completion is not guaranteed. Three full days and 2 nights in duration. The student will be required to spend both nights in their primitive shelters and demonstrate they can affect fire in two ways. Flint and Steel and Bow Drill (Friction). This course is rain or shine and will demonstrate the student’s ability to thrive under adverse conditions in all weather. The student will only be permitted to bring with them the items on their 10C list provided by the instructor cadre. There will be a heavy focus on fire in adverse conditions, preparing shelter under a time constraint, and demonstration of camp craft by crafting a spoon they can take home with them as a keepsake of their skills. On successful completion of this course, the student will be presented with a certificate and challenge coin.
